University graduates’ early career decisions and interregional mobility: self-employment versus salaried job

We explore the relationship between university graduates’ early career decisions and their interregional mobility. focus on immediate entry into labour market, analysing antecedents relations of (self-employment versus salaried job) mobility choices (staying in region or moving). use a longitudinal dataset 3436 students from 62 Italian universities who were surveyed at graduation one year later. find that self-employment most likely occurs among those study stay home region, as well different return to one. Conversely, positions are more appealing who, after graduation, move other than Individual characteristics explain decision enter accept job. In contrast, is mainly affected by contextual factors.
